Some of the financial options available to National
Institute of Technology students are:
*STATE AND FEDERAL GRANTS:
Federal Pell Grant:
Eligibility for the Pell Grant as well as all other federal and state programs
is determined by a need application, the FAFSA which is distributed by the
federal government each year.
Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant (FSEOG):
Students with exceptional financial need may qualify for the FSEOG. This grant
is
based on the availability of funds.
Ohio Instructional Grant (OIG):
Students must be enrolled full-time in an Associate Degree program and meet
all
eligibility requirements. The OIG is a needs-based grant that is administered
by the
Ohio Board of Regents.
* Grants are monies given to a student
by the government, which do not have to be repaid.
STUDENT LOANS:
Federal Stafford Loan (FFEL):
The FFEL is a low interest loan, which is available to qualified
students. The loans are guaranteed by the federal government.
Repayment of the loan does not start until six months after
the student drops below half-time status, graduates, or terminates
training.
Federal Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students (FFEL-PLUS):
Provides additional funds to help parents pay for educational
expenses. Interest rates are competitive and repayment plans
vary.
VETERANS BENEFITS:
Montgomery G.I. Bill (MGIB):
The MGIB is a participative program eligible to members of the United
States Armed forces during their enlistment.
Benefits are paid directly to the veteran by the Veterans Administration,
based on enrollment status.
